Abstract

Radio frequency ablation (RFA) represents an alternative treatment possibility in addition to conventional surgical resection for patients with liver carcinomas such as hepatocellular carcinomas (HCC), intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) and colorectal liver metastases (CRLM). The stereotactic RFA (SRFA) allows the planning of several probe positions (up to 8-10 probes), also in larger, irregular tumors (≥5 cm), on the basis of CT/MRT/PET three-dimensional planning data.
